I Remember These Walls.

I Remember These Walls.

A Poem by Poe Met Emily

He was once the light I knew
Now the clouds drift over my chest
And we all know what happens next.

I am complicated, I am transfixed.
The piano no one dares to touch in the hotel lobby.
Dust collects on my keys and i lose my tune.

I rot from the insides out.
The maggots crawling in to make me uncomfortable.
So uncomfortable in my own skin.

Remember when we sat under the stars,
Fighting like children because I was down again?
You were angry to be denied lifting me up

And suddenly, I was not allowed to speak.
I could not even show you the sadness;
You said it was so pointless.

Now I am blessed and yet left in that mentality.
For why would he chance a love to love a ghost,
A decaying piano like me?

You helped do this to me,
No care, no concern, no regret.
I dislike you greatly.
