I Have Suffered.

I Have Suffered.

A Poem by Poe Met Emily

The pain sets in of knowing what I am doing now.
I place my barriers to dismiss the agony.
He took my heart and gave it away for ten seconds,
to have all he wanted, all he desired.

He took my body and handed it to many fingers
I never asked to be held by.
My lips left grounded into my teeth, torn to rid
the awful reminders of bliss tossed away.

I died countless times, letting the destruction last.
I gave him my all to be treated like a dog,
sleeping on the floor, at his feet,
dragged around to his every wish...

How dare he... How dare he...
I am Human, too, not an animal...
Under his pressure, I felt so weak and fragile.
His cruelty left me wondering who I was.

I hate that I loved with a love so bold,
to be given a world of burned bridges,
and oceans to drown away in.
I hate that I loved with my entire existence

and now I am shattered into a million threads.
No needle can sow me back together,
yet, you are...
You mend me more than my pride admits.
