A For N, G, S, and T.A Poem by Poe Met EmilyMy eyes are covered in fire, salt glistens outside I am saddened into quiet and low breaths Weights placed across my breast plate Barb wires tied around my vital organs Please I cannot fight this war alone I am the shameful seed my family had sown The sheep among goats, a butchered lamb gone sour I am nothing in the eyes of those who bore me A distant mistake wishing to fade away Erase me from the photographs again But his brilliance drives me to keep going Why, of all my choices, have you appeared before me I fear I am growing crooked.
