Come homeA Poem by Kasey Miriam
Surprise me when you finally get home.
Kiss me, sweep me off my feet, Don't knock, you have a key Let yourself in while my music is loud and my back turned Hug me from behind and twirl me around the kitchen Tell me then "love I'm here to stay" And fill my heart with relief, joy and love. Its been seven years of short hellos and long goodbyes Over oceans, and across the land I've stayed here. Maybe we both got a little lost for a time Floating in a circle always back to each other for twelve years now Some how even far away for so long We are so close now And the goodbyes grow harder, the hellos sweeter but sadder still But don't tell me when you're on your way Let the first page of the new chapter Be as much a shock as everyone wants their engagement to be Surprise me and tell me that there's no more teary goodbyes © 2019 Kasey MiriamFeatured Review
