Boy behind the wall

Boy behind the wall

A Poem by Kasey Miriam

I've seen the tears you've shed
The tears of stress and exhaustion
I've seen the desire to pack up
Come home
Get on with real life on a new foot
A fresh start
Take two
The real deal
I've seen the cracks grow
From having to be the strength
The foundation
Everything.
Taking care of not just your stuff
But your family
And her.
Almost a decade you've cared for your demise
Its time to stop and focus
I am privileged to see all I have
The strong on hides it to so many
But here I sit with you
Behind the wall you hide behind
I see you not the projection
The trust to know
Is worth more than anything
Here I sit and here I stay
You don't need to be strong with me
I'll gladly hold some of the extra
weight you just can't bare.

i see a mother here who is trying to relieve some of the weight that her son has felt because there is so much burden with his family...and he is trying to take care of them...maybe sickness, whatever it is...it has become too much...and he needs someone to lean on...

i also saw this as just a friend....one who is there for the bad as well as the good....

either way...you make us see her strength...and the willingness to use some of that to comfort and help him.

you wrote that awhile ago but the impact is no less powerful.. sometimes it only takes one other person to give us the extra bit of resolve to carry on when we think we have come to the end of the day.. I call it God sending his angels to shield us so we can lower our own shield long enough to let the grace that is called mercy fall.. I hope it turned out well for your friend..

Thank you very much
Real friendship and dealing with their "nows". You put a description to the type and heart of and within a rare level of friendship and caring.
