Star-crossed....Maybe

Star-crossed....Maybe

A Poem by Kasey Miriam

There he sat,
Just two seats in front of me.
Not just in math,
but in French too.
He was my good friend then.
And to this day he is my one, true best friend.

That year in a way was the beginning,
2008, the last year of middle school
It was the start of a seeming endless cycle,
that we only now just noticed was really there.
The true start was 2001, the boy that said "hi"
That's all it took.

That hello led to friendship,
Somehow only to grow stronger.
Despite the thick, thin, distance and
elements in life trying to tear us apart.
we always gravitate back,
closer than ever.
Attached at the hip

So the cycle has kept us,
ever close to being a couple.
and ever more a couple of dummies,
letting life and people get in the way.

Could it be we're star-crossed,
Or is it maybe in the stars that this cycle has an end

Thank you for reading much appreciated
Intriguing and with a mystical touch, I like how the poem ends in a question. My answer is that everything happens in its own time and what is meant to be will be.
