Head and heart

Head and heart

A Poem by Kasey Miriam

It's always a hard battle
The head vs. the heart
But add another level
The head battling itself and the heart
Simultaneously
But the heart is equally confused
Love is complex.
Love is not fair.
What I have should be enough.
I am happy
But is it enough?
How can happy still feel like something is missing?

In this battle my body wishes that brain and heart would shut up.
Close my eyes
Throw the dart at the wall
Let fate take the wheel
What is meant to be will be...
Right?
Or is it truly up to me?
Perhaps the body can shut down,
Let brain and heart fight to the death.
Winner take all
Left or right?
Is it worth asking for signs
When you know you'll never see them?

hmm decisions can be hard to make. I always follow my gut it knows better than my heart and head.

Thanks for reading I appreciate it
and others can't help...most will say "use your head, you know better"
but the heart rarely lets the head decide---even when it does.
