The man I love

The man I love

A Poem by Kasey Miriam

I once called you my knight in shining armor.
That although in the context it's often used is right is far from how I feel… the best knights armor isn't shining. They've fought they've worked and their armor is worn and dented.

You are the brightest star on a moonless night.
You're a shot of reality when the hysteria kicks in.
We've been through hell and high water but when most couples break we've grown stronger.
We've had our arguments but they bring us closer at the end of the day.
You be been the my candle on the dark since the day we met.
You helped me stand but never as a crutch.
Arm in arm we've pushed each other up.
You're not meant to fight my demons but you've helped every step of the way.
You've made me realize how empowered and independent I am.
But at the same time you've shown me how much I need my family
The grass turned greener when I found you.
You've fought, for yourself, for me, for us
And I love that about you.
I love you for all you've done
All you've conquered
All you've become
All you'll be
All you are to me.

I opened this expecting a Haiku - for some reason...

For the most part, you used your voice to express your thoughts well and I'm sure we the listeners did pick up on your intent. But - We're all human and make mistakes - the correction of which will display your vision with more clarity.

I suggest making the first three lines shorted. However, the message is beautiful!

yes, that is what a relationship is really all about.
being all we can be to the other...and feeling acceptance that the grass is going to be as green as it will ever be when being with that person.
