A New Breed

this is a story that is closely tied to Elfen Lied, my favorite anime. In which I am trying to keep everything correct to the sytem they have already placed.

 My daughter, Isis, is unlike all the little girls born before her. She has small horns that protrude from the region of her temples.  The doctors have never seen anything like it before. They want to take her for testing to find out what is "wrong" with her. X-rays and CAT scans, then an MRI the doctors say its just a mutation in the skull.

As my little Isis grew up her father and I found she had more than just a mutation of the skull. She would explain to us she had extra hands, vectors as she calls them, four of them to be exeact. They can't be seen, but are extermly strong and can move so quicky that they can be as sharp as blades. When Isis would get upset things halfway across the room would shatter becase she would momentarily lose control over her vectors.  She had explained that there was a voice in her head that would take over. She was diagnosed with personality disorder but the doctors tried to treat it with no luck. As she grew her outbusts became more dangerous.

She had always gotten strange looks while we were out with her. My husband and I took pride in how she was . She was very wise and proud as a young child. together we decided that we would cover her horns for school

The kids still teased her for her ribbon that she wore everyday. the teasing never phased her. The boys in class became physical bullies. we brought her home and schooled her ourselves. We surrounded her with friends that accecpted her as she was. 

It was years later we found our daughter was sterile her mutation also effected her reprodutice system.

The man she fell in love with married her and they had gotten a young woman to have their child for her. The child was also a little girl with small horns. It seemed strange to see the same mutation again but after a few weeks Isis's husband Gregory also had grown horns.  A genetic test was done on their baby rosa and it was found that the mothers genes were passed on to the child as if they wer the dominate trait. 

Doctors and scientists were stuned something like this could happen. The family was taken by federal scientists to be studied. They lived in a top level security lab, because the goverment knew Isis and Rosa were both dangerous and could easily kill everyone in the lab. 

They found that the mutation was caused by a type of microbe, the vectors Isis has were able to infect men with the microbe and change their DNA sequence which caused Rosa to be same genetically. 

Due to the genetic and reproducive difference Isis, her husband and Rosa were claimed a new speices of human, Diclucion, because of the distint horns on their heads.

Nice idea for a story to be developed. If this is a new human species, what effects would they have on society? What would be society's reaction to them? What advantages would they have beyond human's abilities besides their vectors? Just a story about people with super-powers would be the same old thing, I think. There are more philosophical and sociological factors that could be developed.

Would they go into hiding, planning something for the humans? What would be their agenda? Lots of stuff could go on, complications, intrigue, etc. What would be the final result of all this?

A new human species introduced into society could have a lot of interesting twists and turns. Just my thoughts.

Good story, very original. I would like it better though if there was more description. Where are the extra set of arms, what do her horns look like? More details like this would make the story even better! Good job Kasey!

This is a very fascinating story. You've also got me wanting to look into that anime. I'm noticing a few places where there are typos and words that are homophones (phased versus fazed, for instance) are mixed up, and I'd have liked more detail about what Isis faced at school rather than just being quickly told she was teased but aside from that, I see a lot of potential.

Thank you. I'll have to edit some more and add some more as well. My story is much softer than the anime. There are parts of the show that make me sick no matter how many times I see it.

Interesting; but it doesn't really seem to be going anywhere. I see potential in this though; maybe write from the point of view of the surrogate mother and her feelings?

It is a work in progress diffucult because of information that is difficult to get a whole of...its story based on a story i want to keep true to but the orign was never truly completed in the US. I had to write the idea before it escaped me. It will get better soon.

It's an interesting idea, but the ending is weak. If Iris married a man with horns and they had children with horns it could start a whole new race...


Now that would be a really intriguing concept.

The concept of the birth of the second generation is difficult and I have yet to write it out. The diclosion, what Iris is, are genetically unable to mate with the rest of humankind. The first generation instead "infects"men with her extra hands, called vectors. So that the children they have are also diclosion. As I said this story is based off a Japanese series.
