Concourse

A Poem by Blu Walters
"

My 1st post on here. Can't wait to grow with y'all

"
I wipe your cheek and tell you not to cry
You look gorgeous tonight
Tears on the airport floor as I board my flight
I don't want this to be my last image of you, I need a smile
I might not ever come back if I do, it's gonna be a while
Just know you're #1 on the speed dial
You try to play it cool meanwhile
Your eyes tell the story
I read em like a book "You won't ever come back for me."
They accuse my dreams of being excuses to chase this glory
And it's painfully clear you in pain for me

You don't trust me
I can't blame you, I was once prone to mischief
Easily tempted, and now you factor in the distance
It seems impossible that its in me to stay committed
Actions will speak have to speak, my words aren't convincing
Give you a last kiss, a last appeal to your senses
And leave you with a promise, wait for me I'll send a ticket
