Stolen Friendships Part Two

Stolen Friendships Part Two

A Poem by 8petallotus
"

This is a poem for anyone whom has lost close friends because a partner drove an imanaged wedge between you

"
It is in this solitude
Where the soul becomes black and blue
From beating on the empty tomb
Where the heart resumes
Giving hope to hopelessness
And breaking in two.

Here, in this place,
Where even silence is given compliant
Of being too noisy
We recgonize
What it is to be lonley.

It is unwavered self-resilience,
And sleepless nights.
It is the constant belief in another
Only to be let down.
It is the unquestion honesty
From a lair.
It is the deeply cherished friendships
Burning in a pyre
After death has come to claim another.

Death.
Dear old friend.
Which of your many forms
Did you take this time?
Was it for real, or metaphoric?
Assassin creeping in the night,
Swiftly drawing blade to throat.

Were you disguised as me?
Being too needy,
Too selfish,
Too available?
Disgusted by what you see?

Or were you another,
Whispering dreadful things,
Poisoning all those against me,
Wrought over your own imanaged slights
At your own heart?

Either way press on indeed.
Knowing only a fool pleads,
For this again and again
Another heartbreak from a stolen friend.
