No Longer HokumA Poem by DaniElle LaPointeOdometer test strip begins now.....measuring ---------by those painted lines ---------- it is possible to be one with the blur a sort-of warp so to speak the buzz and hum jolt of old winter-cracked pavement to suffer a --------light------- year--------like-------- stretch------- of KILOMETERs KILL each meter with the tread of four tires wanting wanting wanting more than just the blur gravel flying like ammo the speed makes the morse code -------- dash ----- dash ----- dash-------- upon the ash(fault) so divisional and wordless speedy lines zoom --- as if to come from a space craft firing ------ ------ - - attacking galactic and war-like making it easier to believe that a cosmic event a worm hole occurred in a sedan-sized moment and 1300 kilometers the blur that bends inside out within the sound of your sigh Fueling this for the stretch-------
and in your arms the proof
to look at you pulled in by your encircling embrace as if to come out of some strange long confined cryo-sleep
and in your strong arms is all proof
planetary alignment zodiac musings black holes warp travel all shape themselves into truth seen and soundless from the crinkled joy of your smiling eyes shaping themselves into reality not questionable no longer hokum not even science guesswork not to me no not anymore
