Love Turned Malediction for her

Love Turned Malediction for her

A Poem by Mahvish Siddiqui
"

This Poetry delas with the emotions a lady is facing after having a love affair and getting betrayed by her Beloved.

"

Never once she thought she would be so alone
Her deep sigh eloped in the enchanting bevy,
It has become her daily routine to bewail on her ‘acievements’
‘Achievements’ which a maiden will never bethink of
These seven long years of ‘Malediction’?
Her deep breath trembled even the fearless rustling bushes
Hesitantly or somewhat in confusion she looked around
Than as if awaken, continued with her routine ……..
One by One the scenes from her life bi scope started rolling
for a moment she thought of being turned into a madcap,
a free enjoyment for everyone……
The very thought filled her with immense grief
Who else?, but she herself, is responsible for this oddity
She liefly welcomes him to wreck her peaceful life
She still remembers those soothing words from him which
she wanted to hear all her life
An eminent lady who never mingled with any stranger
Sobs on the betrayal of the most loving person
That malign character can’t be human
Left this gracious maiden weeping in her twenties
Her entity now lie enshrouded in these dark shadows
My heart comes out on every single sigh of her
I, who was her childhood friend
Gossip, sentiments , grief ………………..
what all we not shared
Her expressionless face leaves me lifeless
The life of our college, ‘She’ ……………….
‘Bookworm’ unanimously we shouted at her entry in the college campus
Perfection ,the word seems to be borne for her only
Result of an agreement , she lies barren……
No smile , no pleasure, all she’s left with her burning heart
Unable to survive her questioning sight,I finally decided this
dolour should come out as dewdrops
As I touched her lean frame…………………
Wildness beholded her but she soon reconciled and wept as a newborn
Deeply hurt , I couldn’t stop myself now……..
The pale, dark skeleton felt like a stranger to me
Whom I left seven years ago was a cheerful, smart young maiden
And now I am meeting a woman in her sixties
Not for a moment have I left glancing at her
With great difficulty I speak to her
My eyes, full like that of a salty river
In response she uttered something
Her little prittle-prattle, sounded like words of wisdom
I embraced her tight…….emotions running like hot blood
She cried fiercely ,that could even have shaken the earth
Beseemed that life getting back on tracks
Now not through speech but through eyes, we were talking
She thanked me by blinking those luscious eyes
We started to our own path………..
We soon find no place for the fresh pearls
So we collected them in our palms
And buried them deep between the same dark  shadows………………
