Migration

Migration

A Poem by Abhishek Asthana
"

Most people can find someone in their own family who had experienced a migration of some kind, knowing the sense of dislocation, longing and fortitude.

"

The isolation from vernacular has palpably led to the worries,

Stray your valiant mind into the world of memories.

The contemplation of past events, it will bring tranquility,

Be sturdy from inside, accept this transfiguration with equanimity.

Reviving erstwhile episodes will oversee a freakish smile on your face,

Undeniably you will be bound to move rearward at a rapid pace.

Once you perceive this truth, the combat seems invincible,

Arduously you would obtain relations like those, someday it will turn amicable.

it could be geographical segregation but not incongruity of souls,

utterly, it's a worthwhile development and passageway of the new roles !!

I have often wondered how I would cope with migration. The separation from everything I have ever known and friends and family would be almost impossible for me to deal with. I have to say I admire those who have the fortitude to do it. The pull for a better or safer life would have to be incredibly strong. A fine write which is thought provoking Abhishek.

Your poem about migration is quite different than what I was expecting. These days, the word conjures up strife at the border, but your poem steers clear of the political chaos surrounding this topic. Some friends suggest I should leave the USA becuz of how crazy it's gotten here (noting India has similar covid extremes) but I would find it too daunting to leave my country of origin. Your poem shows both challenging & rewarding aspects of such a major life decision. I can feel the way your narrator is jumpy with anticipation (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Leaving behind your family, friends and the people with whom you have established good relations over a period of time is really tough. Thanks for writing this.

Thank you so much for reading. I am glad you liked it.
I have never migrated as of now and it is sth, I ponder about at times. The excitement, the loneliness, the nostalgia, that bittersweet package- everything brought out clearly through your sturdy language. Glad to have read this anecdote.

Thanks so much for reading mam... I believe most of the beings can relate with it...
Whether geographical or of the mind, such a journey also inspires and causes reflection, not always easy are the journies taken either but it seems they are unavoidable actually as we age. Uniquely expressed and a much enjoyed piece.

Very nicely written . . . actually i liked the concept very much . . . everyone can easily connect to it. . . one thing i have noticed that you have used really tough words to express simple feelings. . . . well you could have it made it more easy . . . but yes huge applaud for your vocab. . . i loved to read . keep on sharing
