An Idiom for a Prayer (Thank You and farewell 2014)

A Poem by Jonesy

As my best foot embarks upon that honorable journey forward. As I attempt to add substance to these four walls and a kitchen sink. As my eyes and ears start to make sense of the Greek I knew as life.

Although the moment’s heat may prove to overwhelm. Although previous voyages have lead me back to this square known as 1. Despite my history of lust for gold, an element from a world inhabited by fools.

Allow my following days to be backgrounded by a blissful field. Allow my eyes to uncover a blessing out from underneath it’s disguise. Minimize my ability to turn haste into waste and grant me the gift of converting that waste into wisdom.

About
Foremost, I wouldn’t call myself a writer. What I am… is pure and relevant, and opposingly, diluted and unsignificant. Factual, and hypocritical. I’m black and white (not by race), .. more..
