Chapter IV
Killer

They were still waiting. Midnight, the clock struck. They had been waiting for thirty minutes and he never came back.

“We are not going back there.” Tim looked at Richie who nodded his head in agreement.
The wind began to howl as they steadily walked out the forest.
“Alan is stupid.” Richie badgered on again.
“I know.” Were the only words Tim could get out.
“Why would he save Tammy! Out of all people!”
“That w***e.” His words had no emotion.
“Alan is freakin stupid!” Richie screamed.
“I told you she wasn’t dead!” Tim looked around. Alan was dragging Tammy’s body on the ground.
“Well when someone is stabbed in the neck, I only assume.” Richie said. Tim smiled.
“Your alive.” He whispered. “Thank gosh.”
“She's still mumbling.” Alan said. “But she is going to die soon anyways.”
“Leave her here.” Richie insisted.
“No. Your finger prints are on her, they are going to think you killed her.” Tim said.
“Never.” Alan held up his hands- wearing black gloves. “I’m not stupid.”
“Yes, you are.” Richie put his arms around Alan and they began walking again.
“The custodians will find the body when they go back there.” Tim said with relief.
“Or that killer inside.” Richie laughed.
“Now we can go find Veronica.” Alan nudged Tim in the stomach as they walked back to the school.
“Are you sure that was Tammy, Alan?” Tim said after some silence.
“Unless Tammy has a twin, yes I am positive.” Alan forced a laugh.
“She just looked younger.”
“That’s what dying slowly does to you.” Alan suggested.
“Bullshit.” Richie said to Tim.
“I’m serious.” Tim said.
They walked in silence until they opened the doors of the school. A haunting chilling sensation rushed through Tim’s body and he found himself running, running around the school to find Steve. A world without his best friend Steve, he couldn’t even imagine it. Collage next year without him, it was like a world without Veronica. He didn’t think he could survive. Tim paused by the theater. A soft moaning was coming from inside. He didn’t want to imagine the things that could be happening, or who they could be happening too. Veronica- If anyone is hurting Veronica... I will... Tim took a deep breath as he held the handle to open the door. Liz! Oh my gosh.
“Let go of her!” Tim yelled as he slammed open the doors.
Silence followed. Silence and darkness was all he could see. Then the moaning started again- then heavy breathing- then a deep voice.
Tim began running around the theater- following the sound. He was running into chairs but decided the pain of losing his friends would hurt more than the bruises he would receive after this. Finally he stopped by the prop room. The source of the moans. Blood was smeared on the door. This is it Tim. Then flashbacks came to him once more. He tried to view his future, but death was the other thing he could see.
“Tim!” He heard Alan’s voice in the back round.
“I don’t think he’s in here.” Richie's soft mumbling voice followed after.
“Over here, guys.” Tim managed to say. “I heard moaning- I can’t- If this is Veronica.” He was trying to hold back tears but accidentally let one flow.
“C’mon, it’s just a stupid prank. Obviously this is the staff of the school bullshitting us.” Richie opened the prop room door.
There it was. Tim, Alan, and Richie stood in shock. Memories began flooding back to Tim. Bad ones this time. This wasn’t the end, this was worse than the end.
“What. The. F**k.” Alan spoke slowly.
It was dark- but the could see one thing that implicated something bad.
“Flick the switch a******s.” It was Steve’s voice.
Richie flicked the switch on and they walked around.
Steve was on top of her, Tammy. If Steve was screwing Tammy then who was killed at the custodian house.
“Guys what the f**k!” Tammy yelled as they got off each other.
“Oh s**t we are so sorry man.” Richie said.
“Dude Tammy, if you are here then who was- someone- we found a f*****g body out there Steve!”
“We thought Tammy was dead.”
“Well obviously you are wrong!” Tammy yelled again. “Now get out!”
“Yeah...” Steve smiled.
“You too!” She hit him on the back of the head and he stumbled out, buttoning his pants.
“That was awkward.” Richie groaned.
They found their way out the theater and back into the library. Liz and Rod were cuddling near the articles. And Veronica- Tim let out a big sigh. Veronica was there smiling, waiting for him.
“Hey guys.” Rod let go of Liz stood up.
“Rod, man did you find anything in the boiler room.” Alan said.
“No, not one little thing.” Rod sighed.
“Its true, we looked all over the place.” Veronica said.
“Hey any luck?” Liz asked.
“Nope.” Tim sighed.
“Although we did catch Steve and Tammy screwing.” Alan laughed.
“Oh wow.” Veronica started laughing as well. “How did that look?”
“Not as pretty as ours will.” Tim smiled.
“Ours will what, Tim?”
“Never mind!” Rod laughed. Rods face turned serious. “My sister Michelle is missing guys, I just want to know if you guys know anything.”
“What? When did this happen?” Richie asked.
“My mom just called the librarian. I just- please guys if you know anything-”
“We would of told you. I know how special she is to you after your parents.” Tim said.
“Your parents what?” Liz chimed in.
“My parents are getting divorced, guys. Michelle is all I have.” Rods voice broke.
“Well we did find a dead body in the woods. We thought it was Tammy but now that you said this she did look a bit young.” Alan whispered.
“Yeah bro, maybe the body was Michelle’s.” Tim whispered.
“Let’s go check.”
“But there is also a killer out there!” Liz whispered harshly.
“Creepy stuff did happen out there, but i think were just being pranked. Its all a freaking prank, some a*****e wants their a*s beat thats why they are doing this.” Richie rolled his eyes. “It’s just a f*****g legend.”
“Just a legend, when your little sister goes missing, when you find bodies in the woods, when you are chased with a knife, and when you find things that could possibly explain it all, then you tell me its just a f*****g legend.” Veronica yelled.
The library got silent.
“Let’s go, guys.” Tim put his arm around Veronica.
“And if we all don’t come out alive?” Liz whimpered.
“May the best of us survive.” Steve laughed.
“And I will prove to you guys that its only just a legend.” Richie did a sleazy smile, and with that they all walked out of the library. Ignoring the teachers who were calling them to come back.
