Little Crusaders

Little Crusaders

A Poem by Alexander Emberson

Take up your little arms and fight back the blackness that burdens you
Though your soles are worn, your hearts swell with passions
And this is what matters when you take up such actions!

Take up your little arms and fight back the blackness that burdens you
Times will be tumultuous, but this is no reason to falter.
For you, and many of your peers carry closely, the words of your fathers.

The cold wind blows in from the South these days
The passage window will be small and stray.
It is possible however, to seek assistance, but be wary.

Once your feet compress sacred land you will find all you have sought
Once your hands touch holy stone all you have lost will be forgot
Once you have felt lies, death, and pain you will need go no further

But I heard today you failed.
I saw what remained of you.
My child, where did you go?

Aww. For some reason or another, I feel I really comprehend your poems. So beautifully written, so smooth. Some may not like your form, but I think it is perfect- so loose, yet strict.
Well written, I thank you for this.
