Tell me again when you saw the planets fall.
The skies burn.
The plants died.
The humans turn towards the remaining stars and
run and run to them like suckling babes born from
ashes and kindled in lost humanity.
Tell me about how women and men wept.
How children stared for miles and never blinked.
Tell me how the young died and the ground feasted
on their blood and guts like fiendish hyena in the
thick of Africa.
We are lost, friend. We are lost like ancient civilizations.
Our way is no longer paved in God and Glory and Gold.
I think we’ve forgotten our place amongst the stars.
I think we’ve forgotten who we are.
