Ultimate Truth [And How It Doesn't Matter]A Poem by 7h3fr34k7h3fr34k's official over-analysis of the phrase 'seeing through someone else's eyes.' At least.. that's kind of what it ended up as.. lol
When you look up to the sky
On a nice cloudy day
And you’d rather not think
But you do anyway
Think on perhaps
The people you know
Things in your life
Think things that are slow
Think any thing in the world…
But think not on the color blue
Yes, you’re looking right at it, however,
Fall not into its more ominous hue
Look, enjoy, describe, even feel
So long as you do not analyze and think
Do not break down the idea of the fact
Accept blue for blue, step back from the brink
The ominous chasm, the hole that is truth
You see merely a refraction of light
Deny not your mind! Put faith in your eyes!
I promise that all that they show you is nothing but right
You see it with your own eyes
How could it all just be a lie?
So think not on silly things
Rather imagine how it would feel to fly!
For do not negative thoughts lead to unhappiness?
Ah, but really, flying is much sillier after all…
If we’re being positive let’s at least make it interesting
So why don’t we jump instead of just fall?
Your eyes do what they do so they show you your blue
But do my eyes do the same as the eyes inside you?
Is it perhaps true that blue to you is to me a green?
Interestingly, this idea is very simple to be seen
Maybe everyone perceives blue differently
So what? It’s all called blue and that’s good enough for me
But if different possible perceptions exist
What shape would blue take if viewed with no twist?
Still, I inquire, notably unimportant abyss,
What good are questions which reveal only bliss?
The ‘question’ is not even a question at all
Merely a mould into which real ideas may fall
The dangerous part has been kept carefully hidden
As a blade up the sleeve of a friend selfishly bidden
Not until you jump into the clouds in search of gold
Do you see beyond the mist and watch the land unfold
The Truth is that which all gaze upon but all fail to see
Upon the correct action in a crucial decision you and he may not agree
What is the right thing to do? Who bears the fault?
What is good or bad? Who are these gods so many exalt?
So stop now while it still might not make complete sense
While you can put it down and avoid it like a violent drunk when he’s tense
There are infinite dunes in this desert of worthlessness
Where wisdom and meaning are the mirage
So do not dwell on the truth…
The truest form of something is irrelevant
If there is no life there to perceive it,
It is dead, a desert, with only the hope for life
However, there is a small path
Jutting from the edge of this abyss
Hopefully you find your feet
Precariously perched upon this patch of rock
That path is not a mirage, but true wisdom
That path is using not the question mentioned
But instead a question with an answer and a purpose:
What does blue look like when somebody else looks at it?
Why is it so?
What does that tell me?
What can I gain from this knowledge?
What can others benefit from my understanding?
Evaluate perception.
How is yours skewed?
How is yours better?
How is another persons skewed?
How is another persons better?
How is all of this information used?
Go. Explore. Focus on the path. And,
Don’t look down…
