Memories

Memories

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Memories take over your senses

Override your thoughts and feelings

Are your suffering at night

And your dreams during the day

You remember the love and the pain

The hard times, the great times

Shed tears when loneliness strikes

Smile when familiar faces appear

Memories filter through your mind

Whether you are awake or sleeping

They tell a sad story

Of lost, precious moments

Back then, love seemed forever

But now is nowhere to be seen

Got angry at the unimportant

Put value on the priceless

Life carries with it some heavy baggage

Mostly a ton of wasted time

But memories are a beautiful gift

Made to survive as long as you do

About
Writing has been my escape since I was a child. My mind is busy working on my latest novel and I also try to find the time to write every single day. Some of my favourite authors: Stephen King, .. more..
