Undo the past

We left each other on that clear spring day

Ready for new begginnings to sweep us away

But when darkness came to my bedroom window

I found out that I had become a heartbroken widow

Sitting on my bed, sinking into the shadows

I found out that I was heading straight for the gallows

A mistake it was to watch you disappear from my sight

When I should of put up a more spirited fight

Never knew that losing you could cause such emotion

Watching the re-run of that day in slow motion

I wish I could travel back to undo the past

And re-capture your heart, this time make it last

Oh yes! I love this piece, it has such good flow and your rhyme is great. I know we have all felt and asked someone this same regretful question and most of the time, our choice to let go, comes back to haunt us, when it is too late. They say..."He who hesitates is lost" but they are probably alot more happy.
