Some days I dream

Some days I dream

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Some days I dream that you will never leave

Other times I wonder why you even stay

Put up with my s**t, when no one else can

How do you do it? How can you care?

You’ve opened up to me, shared who you are

So why can’t I tell you what you need to know

Afraid, perhaps, of your judgement on me

Scared that you’ll go, once you know who I am

But, baby, break me, I’m your puzzle to solve

If you want the answers, you’re the one I’ll tell

Just don’t say it’s too much, once I tell, be warned

I seem like a simple girl, but trust me, I’ll blow you away

i this line really sums up the feeling of this whole piece. It admits the speaker's hubris and its tendency to be a bundle of hypocrisy, as well as admitting that the speaker needs help becasue the wall that is put up is done moreso out of habit than anything.

I like it

Interesting take on a relationship. Kind of sassy and saucy with a powerful ending,
"I seem like a simple girl, but trust me, I'll blow you away."

It was angry and questioning at the same time. I like poems that delve deeper into the emotions we seek to hide sometimes. This poem did that for me.

Nicely done!

ah, what to say. I see the image of this person acting that way and I dislike them. Everyone seems to think they are of more importance than anyone else. But we are all very simple creatures who only front the complexity. That's just my opinion, other then that. Nice structure and imagery.

OMG!! THIS SO ROCKS!!! I was just telling one of my kids today this very same thing! "you have to find some one who will a) put up with your s**t b) will not take your s**t c) who has the wisdom and connection to know the difference!

Wow. I love this.. and again, like much of your other works. Know the feeling.
And these last lines
"If you want the answers, you're the one I'll tell
Just don't say it's too much, once I tell, be warned
I seem like a simple girl, but trust me, I'll blow you away"
Are absolutely amazing.
