Routine

ROUTINE
I wake up in the morning with my eyes still shut
the alarm has gone off and I don't wanna get up
But, I'm in for an adventure today so i wake up in a daze
Shut up the radio with my hand like i have a remote but i don't
and i amuse myself by making that beep sound
i laugh in my head like im doing this for the very first time
me and my friends we used to do this all the time

kick off the sheets toss my self back on my feet
move a little bit and I'm doing push ups on top of it
break my sweat throw my striped hoody on its my favorite
sit back on my bench think how reps i did yesterday
it was 12 but today i'm doing 21 its a feat i thought i can never say
but hey its nothing!

I'm looking at the mirror above my sink
turn on the faucet using the F knob to make a little pool
splash water on my forehead and neck to cool
smile to see my teeth
graze my beard to feel if it needs a shaving
I begin to think too much when...
I'm looking at the mirror above my sink
wishing you were here so this wouldn't be routine
I tell myself this can't be much longer
and we'll be here looking at each other forever
