Death is upon your doorstep

Death is upon your doorstep

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

In a time when mankind had no clue

Of what the future would bring

Still so innocent in their foolish minds

Not knowing that death was to come knocking

That life was on the brink of extinction

And they couldn’t do a damn thing to stop it

They laughed, they cried, night and day

Never properly enjoying anything they did

Angry at the little things, what a shame

When they were the things that mattered

They should have opened their eyes to see

That the end is when all becomes clear

You live your life so utterly clueless

Only realizing your defeat when it’s too late

Can’t do nothing to fix your past

It’s all gone and done with, if you ask me

The final moment is coming right up

Hop on the train, we’re off to hell

Wonderful lines here. The sad thing is, even with this knowledge, people are still distracted by the most unimportant things. I enjoyed this poem from start to finish. Im glad I stopped by to check it out...

I really enjoyed reading that! I thought it was really well written, flowed nicely, and had a deep message. That last line really caught my attention. Nice job!

some very true thoughts here. people are often so distracted by petty things that they forget what's really important. i hope you don't mind a little grammatical correction. the line 'can't do nothing to fix your past' is incorrect grammatically. it should either be 'can do nothing' or 'can't do anything'.

Very true and inspiring with a concept that all of us need to be reminded of from time to time:)

I like this a lot...a great reminder to us all that life is short and there is no time like the rpesent to change oneself...for we cannot help anyone until we do.

This poem is too true of human nature. No one realizes what they have until it's too late.
