Dreams are my saviours

Standing by the waters edge

Watching the tide flowing towards me

Pulling me away from this world

Drifting towards a faraway land

Where all my pain vanishes

A smile appears for a fleeting second

I havn’t smiled in ages, it seems

Dreaming is the only way I can survive

Without them, I die inside

Wither away like a bitter old woman

Collapse from the inside out

Dreams are my saviours

Come to wrap me up with comfort

Close my eyes and imagine a different life

One where I don’t exist and I smile once more

Really touched me...ur last line 'one where i don't exist'...do u mean ure 'someone else' in ur dreams...the someone uve always wanted to be or imagined ud be in this life?!
asking coz ive dreamed those dreams...but my perspective now and living the life i want....it is possible y'know :-)

This was a sensitive poem, I feel compassion. She has been hurt and she would wish healing. And, there is nothing better than dreaming. Sometimes, we forget how to dream. My favorite lines were "Dreaming is the only way I can survive
