Winter Blues

Winter Blues

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Ugh, the winter cold is here

I walk to the tavern for a beer

Months of snow await me

A winter hell land it will be

Ugh, slush with every step

There goes all my summer pep

The cold freezes to the bone

Feels like I’m in an ice cyclone

I can’t wait to be in the heat of the bar

For my thoughts of winter to go afar

Couplet rhymes give this a a upbeat bounce that is contrary to the over all feel. It gives it an ironic feel that works well for you. Right now cold sounds pretty good as we have been in the 90s for the past two weeks but that is to be expected down here. Good work!
