Boys

Boys

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Boys with their touch of gold

They make you feel so good

Act as if they care a lot

Then dump you on the spot

Boys with eyes so ocean blue

They say they’ll call you up

And take you out all night

But change their minds so soon

Boys with minds so different

They make passes at you

Spend so much time looking at you

Then disappear into the night

Boys with smiles so sincere

They want to run away with you

And sit beside you everywhere

But once the chase is over, they’re gone

Boys are like lilacs on a tree

One day their blooming for all to see

The next they die and blow away

Never to be seen until the following year

Boys appear and disappear like a magic show

They are magicians of their own domain

They lie and cheat and leave you

But then say it was all a simple trick

Yes dear there are many boys like this...but there are some that aren't! (usually the "nice guys" that girls don't want to date in favor of the jerks). I know cause I used to be like that too.
Maybe if we cared less about the silver-tongues and ocean-blue eyes and more about the things that matter.
Sorry if this turned into a little rant. But I do like the poem! : )

I suppose it is some DNA strand, from eons ago, that make us act so foolish.
Some guys actually do a pretty good job seeming 'responsible' and even, occasionally, 'acceptable'.
This poem really says it like it is though.
Boys are reckless animals, and unstable too.
Did I mention unpredictable and non-empathetic?
Like............"Well, I didn't MEAN to cause so much trouble".............as if it were a legitimate excuse.
Pretty good work, this poem.
I liked it.

Scary territory for me to wander into, but I liked this poem.*

I'd like to point out that people in general can be fickle. Boys can be this way, it's what seperates them from men. Typically, the boys that would do this have female equivalents who know just how to lead boys on, and wrap them around their little finger.
