The HeartA Poem by Kat-Marie BertiThe heart learns many lessons A lifetime of broken collections All packed up in a lovely box Stacked up in the musty attic The heart yearns to understand To find out all those mysteries Uncover the hidden, show the truth Discover the forbidden, to taste life The heart is foolish, it knows it well It was split in half more than once Smashed to the ground a few times Ground up to dust, blown off by the wind But the heart is also enduring It lasts throughout a lifetime Succumbs through pain and hardships And is always there to keep us living
