What do you really think of me?

What do you really think of me?

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

I tell you what’s on my mind

But you turn away from me

I want to pour my heart

Make you listen to my dreams

Yet you seem to want to laugh

You have no spark in your eyes

Tell me: am I boring you?

I want to know the truth

I try so hard to make you happy

So you need to be real with me

No more hiding behind blank eyes

Now’s your chance, baby, spill it

What do you really think of me?

Spell it out if you have to, I’m listening

This is a great poem. I think it's brave of you to ask someone the truth about what they think of you. Seeing as no one wants to hear the truth since most of the time people concentrate on other people negative aspects. It's always nice to see that someone can say what everyone else is thinking without being afraid of the consequences may be. Keep up the great writing. ; ]

The eyes can sometimes say what the lips won't.
Yes, the blank stares. I've been on both ends of that view.

This was good Kat-Marie!

Thanks for sharing it.

what a wonderful relationship to just have some one ask (no guessing or games). have searched and longed for that my entire life....this is a refreshing and honest poem from your heart with teardrops of your mind. excellent poetry. and if you asked me this (based on your poetry) i would say that you have an amazing soul that is worth a life-time to travel into and discover the hidden corners with.

It is a brave thing you ask for. Truth is dangerous. Still, I agree with you, it is required - especially in a relationship. I really like the "blank eyes" line. It calls to mind they must of changed, no one would start off a relationship with someone that had blank eyes.

Great job.

PS: I hope it just a poem and not a testament to a troubled relationship.
