Wonder

As I lay in bed in the dead of night

I wonder about you and if I’m right

What you think of during your day

And if I was with you, what you’d say

If I’d kiss you, how that would make you feel

If you’d tell me your heart would be mine to steal

Or if you would shrug and say it’s not much

All the while never loving the way I touch

I wonder about so much, about who you are

And if your body and soul holds any scars

Were you ever in love? I want you to tell me

Don’t be afraid, I will never turn around and flee

No matter what you say, I will always love you

I made a commitment in my heart and I’ll stay true

My word isn’t always any good, what a shame

But this time it’s engraved in gold with our names

So let’s enjoy life, I’ll be waiting right here

Just let me know as soon as you get near

Nice,when in love ,there are so many nights where the sleep just doesnt come so easily.the mind gets engaged with the thoughts about the lover.The wonders or say thoughts like what if i was there,is always so beautiful to think.An imaginary world where one lives a life with the hope that it will become true someday.The way u presented ur wonders are good .i wish that your hopes will turn brightful someday.

this is a sweet poem, the slightly awkward ryhming doesn't detract either but somehow makes it more poignant, as if one could really ask of perfectly rhyming couplets when one is enthralled in the process of 'wondering'

when you are saying that 'you're word isn't always any good' are you talking about one's word you gave to be true or your speech in trying to expres yourself?

often with the onset of love we are filled with wonder, i personally call it paranoia - questions that we ask but are afraid to ask and thus to know - it's an absurdly wonderful time isn't it??
