From start to finish

You looked at me as if to say

“Go ahead, baby, have your own way”

We used to spend all night fighting

Now we don’t even spend time talking

 

Love, in my case, was never meant to be

I gave you everything, I gave you me

You seemed to care with all your heart

But you were playing me right from the start

 

Now it’s time to forget all that we were

I’ll need some years to figure out a cure

To let go of the painful memories, one by one

Until I can say “this nasty part of life is done”
