Second chance to do right

Second chance to do right

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Dreams and love are wonderful

Until they crash around you

In life you have to be careful

In whatever you choose to do

One day you might seem to win

But tomorrow could be the end

Remember how you used to sin

And when evil seemed a friend

You’ve changed, come to the light

Swept off the darkness in your life

The road to healing is in your sight

Now go and throw away that knife

You were once a street criminal

Never afraid of death or pain

Waking to days so utterly banal

Cracking under all the strain

But God was good, he saved your heart

And now it’s time to give up the past

You may now have a brand new start

Because of the One who knew you’d last

This is fascinating, what a story within. I do believe when God has his hand on us, it may take us time to see but God is always there with outstretched arms. I also believe the enemy doesn't want to lose us and makes it hard when we change. Two roads and the better one was chosen...in time the benefits will be reaped in abundance! This is so special and encouraging to so many! Excellent write and I'm saving it to my favorites!

Thats really good. I love the rhyme in it. This is so good. It seems like you're talking about a man off the streets. It's a really good poem.

Your poem shows that no matter how good or bad a person is there is aways a choice - to do - or not to.

It also shows that anyone can change their ways and make good choices instead of bad, and that good will win out in the end.

God's love shows throughout the words you write here.

Well done

"When evil seemed a friend" What a poignant line. Isn't that which tempts us most actually that which hurts us greatest?

Excellent read.
