Ryker

Ryker

A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

Ryker is a man

He never cries

No place in his heart for love

Only hate

Drinks his nights away

Thinks he’s not worth anything

Doesn’t give a damn

What anyone thinks about him

Dreams about happiness

But never tasted it

Raised in hell

Lives a life of utter uselessness

Wishes he could die sooner

Than later

Grew up with no daddy

Beaten every day of his youth

Thrown in jail young

Knew no other life then his own

I fell in love with Ryker

The day my eyes rested on his abandoned soul

Never judged him

Only gave him what he’d never had before

Whatever was left

Of himself he offered back to me

Ryker is not just a man

He is mine

i have a friend who is actually going through almost everything you have written of ryker in your poem..i guess thats why i stay by his side and though most of the time his in pain, the times he's smiling only makes me want to stay with him more. this poem means something to me keep it up dude.

I like this very much. This reminds me of one of my relationships. It is so much like it. It really shows the reader how hard it is to turn away from someone you love even though they are bad for you. Good job!

This poem is so simple and so beautiful that I just had to comment on it. I wasn't even planning on it, but I just had to. There's no flashy language or anything like that. You just kissed the zen of pure tenderness with this piece.

great work. i can definitely relate to the feeling of being lost...kind of...

i think bear put it best: a tale of true love, accepting and receiving. that's what it's all about.
