through my life sore eyes

through my life sore eyes

A Poem by V.J.C.

Day by day my life goes by in a hazy blur of nothingness
One person passes and the next, no face stands out
All appear the same in the crowds of millions that walk around
Just another among the crowd trying to survive the world
While i age life changes me and shapes me into something new
Innocents is lost and my eyes have been forced open to the world around
Now the warmth of the world has dwindled and all that's left is the cold
Numb from all the pain that has consumed me for so long
Peace seems the farthest thing possible in this moment of war
Hate is shown to more while kindness dies swiftly in this darkest of place

So here i hand you a piece of advice to survive a while at least
Once exhaustion has taken hold sleep with one eye open
For there are monsters crawling around just waiting for you to make a mistake
Keep your heart close for there are cruel things in the shape of something sweet
Only the hardest of people seem to survive and those with the tiniest speck of kindness will be eaten alive

Wow! The title lives up to it's name...through your sore eyes, indeed. It's sad to be so jaded... one must have faith in knowing that even "the tiniest speck of kindness" could turn into a whirlwind of blessings...Thank you for this thought-provoking write.

This is amazing poetry. I like the strong statements in the poem making your view understood. Last line is fact. Can't allow the haters and naysayers to destroy our hope. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
