I cry

I cry,

silently we stare.

Hope crashes against my chest,

futile.

 You turn away,

eyes cold and hard.

See right through me,

a dream dead and buried.

Holding my heart,

shattered as it may be.

Tears flow,

 you'r silence tells all.

 Though you've changed,

my heart has remained the same.

Through the fights,

 lies and the truths you could not hide.

I cry,

for the first time I truly see.

Your eyes,

never held mine.

My heart given freely,

 yours remained hidden.

I cry,

the loneliness that grips me.

Even when you held me tight at night,

your touch so empty and distant.

Like sand in my hands,

you slip through fingers you once had clung to.

I cry,

you walk away without a backwards glance.

 our story comes to an end.

Deep breath,

clenched fists

I''ll let you go,

for there are no more tears spared.
