Upon angel wings

Upon angel wings

A Poem by V.J.C.

Angels-Male-Angels--angel-s--angels--faries--fantasy--aniol--cool_large

Upon angel wings,
you carry me.
my burdens,
you embrace.

Life,
lived in the shadows of others.
pain there in my mind,
you saw.

gently,
holding me.
caring while the rest looked away.

You'r strong hold,
steered me through the storm.
being my eyes,
when I was blind.

stubborn,
indeed i had been.
Yet,
you never strayed,
always knowing what was right.

Upon angel wings,
I learned to see.
the world changing,
shaping into something new.

Light now shines,
giving me warmth.
As you try to walk away,
tears streaking down your face.

Strength you gave,
I now will return.
For while you gave,
you lost so much more.

Sight gained,
showing me your pain.
truth comes out,
my time has come.

you weaken,
as the days wear on.
my heart trembles,
but hands stay strong.
swiftly it comes,
rain pours down.

 one tender glance ,
tears fall freely.
night,
of great sadness.
to say goodbye,
and fly upon angel wings one final time.

Beautiful! ~ This has such a calming feel to it as i read... peace comes to mind. And you make me remember how i often think of death. THis is comforting and i love it. Death is nothing to be afraid of... we shall all reach there but we mustn't fear the unknown.. ~
Such strength this has! I'm glad. Thank you!

its like some one under stress and pain suffering and was soothed by the touch of some one and now he can easily move on next level by the sacrifice of someone else..beautiful

Soothing is the perfect word to describe this. It's almost melodic, the content upsetting yet the words... accepting... peaceful. Not sure if that made any sense.. but it was great!

Wow! That is great! I love how you used the dark blue color for font and the power and message within the lines is amazing. I love this one.

I wouldn't say that facing death at any stage would be positive, yet something about the onsight of an angel and their wings carrying us on seems at least peaceful. You have captured an essence of raw design and lucidity within the words of your poem, which all seem to flow together quite well with the idea and concept of your piece. I like this poem very much.
