Upon angel wings

Upon angel wings

A Poem by V.J.C.

Angels-Male-Angels--angel-s--angels--faries--fantasy--aniol--cool_large

Upon angel wings,
you carry me.
my burdens,
you embrace.

Life,
lived in the shadows of others.
pain there in my mind,
you saw.

gently,
holding me.
caring while the rest looked away.

You'r strong hold,
steered me through the storm.
being my eyes,
when I was blind.

stubborn,
indeed i had been.
Yet,
you never strayed,
always knowing what was right.

Upon angel wings,
I learned to see.
the world changing,
shaping into something new.

Light now shines,
giving me warmth.
As you try to walk away,
tears streaking down your face.

Strength you gave,
I now will return.
For while you gave,
you lost so much more.

Sight gained,
showing me your pain.
truth comes out,
my time has come.

you weaken,
as the days wear on.
my heart trembles,
but hands stay strong.
swiftly it comes,
rain pours down.

 one tender glance ,
tears fall freely.
night,
of great sadness.
to say goodbye,
and fly upon angel wings one final time.

Beautiful! ~ This has such a calming feel to it as i read... peace comes to mind. And you make me remember how i often think of death. THis is comforting and i love it. Death is nothing to be afraid of... we shall all reach there but we mustn't fear the unknown.. ~
Such strength this has! I'm glad. Thank you!

So comforting at first, then sad, but with acceptance. Beautiful.

sounds so tragic. i guess bearing someone on your wings and taking away their pains and fears can really suck the life out of you. almost sounds like the person is taking advantage of the angel's wings in the end after all that. great work.

This is great. I loved reading it. I agree with Dean Kuch, it is so very refreshing to many other death poems. I found some spots where I don't think you need commas, and in the seventh stanza you'r needs to be your, but other than that, job well done to you.
