The Death Of A Star

The Death Of A Star

A Poem by Za
"

A poem about stars... But is it really about stars..?

"
At the quiet of night in the busy city
I step outside to gaze at the stars
Disappointment washes my entirety
As I am to face a pitch black sky

I looked and looked for the stars
Trying to spot each, one by one;
Nostalgic of the day I knew how it felt
To gawk at the starry sky- that once

shimmered in the moonless night: It
Drove me crazy yet inspired me
Oh was it a night so mesmerizing,
That it is etched upon my memory

"I wish to see the star filled sky again",
I mutter under my breath, sighing
As a star dies right before my eyes.
Shining, as it takes one final leap.

Very good choice to write about the skies and stars as your first attempt dear Za! Indeed its such a pleasure stargazing and equally disapoointing when the sky is black unclear many times. In todays world with pollution and bad weather we get very few chances of the star lit experience in our busy lives. Happy reading and vivid imagery! Continue to write and share more ...
