DistanceA Poem by Simply MeA purpose not worth defeating
As we distance ourselves further
I can feel the pain receding But the memories are still vivid And I recall your sweet smell I cant get you off my mind Its a purpose not worth defeating If I could hold you in my arms again My heart would simply melt Your smile flashes through my dreams Like it does when you smile as we greet Your eyes penetrate my thoughts Like they did as we danced Your voice is that of the Angels Hearing you laugh is a treat You send me down memory lane With as little as a glance You sent me up a million miles On the day you said yes You sent me reeling on the day You placed the rose on my chest Your dazzling skin shone so brightly Reflecting your elegent dress So much allurement at one time My eyes needed a rest I look back now on the fun that we had And also the fun that we missed In hindsight i can say now That I made many a mistake But if we did it over again I wouldnt change but a small twist If I would have kept you closer Maybe I wouldnt feel so much pain © 2013 Simply Me |
