JuniorA Poem by Simply MeThings arent always as you want them to be
You sit there as one year my junior
But it feels like so much more And the gap can only widen As we open up this door Fate has brought me to you As a one time only deal And if I try to see it as more I cannot help but feel Our worlds are so far seperate And our paths won't likely meet You were mine for only a brief night But you swept me off my feet And we have a mutual demon Which always will say we cannot be The more time I think of you The less I give to sleep Although sleep is not what I want Because you're already in my dreams And you haunt my every thought With your smiling eyes as bright as beams I feel all of this for you And i know its not returned That time we spent that I saw as great Has only caused me burns I knew you only occasionally before But for three weeks I flew so high I saw a new side of you that night And I fell out of the sky As I held you in my arms You showed me what it meant To dance upon the dazzling heavens But our perspectives were bent And as I watched your vibrant eyes Twinkle in the light I saw kindness and fun in your smile Much to my delight I see you only in passing glances But I wish to see you more The last thing I want to see Is us going back to how we were before You sit there as one year my junior But it feels like so much more As I sit quietly in swirling emotions While we close this door. © 2013 Simply MeAuthor's Note
