Mom, I still love youA Poem by Faust
Dear Mom,
You once told me to be a mature young lady. You once told me that I was always too happy or too energetic. You once told me that punishment is an inevitability. You once told me that dreams are nothing more than dreams, That they won't become reality. I was 8 when you told me these things. I was 9 when you told me to watch my mouth. You would yell at me for talking at the dinner table. You would always say that I'm too loud and that lady's should be seen and not heard. But after all these things you have told me, I still love you. In the eyes of others, you were a strict parent. But in the young eyes of me, you were just mom. You were what drove me to be better. Because of you, I have learned to pick up my brocken pieces. I have learned to be tough. I have learned that if I want to be heard, I would have the whole world listen to my story. Mom, I still love you. I love you because you made me who I am. You have shaped me to become a proud individual. Mom, I want you to know, That even though we have different ways on how we view the world, Even though you always told me my ways were wrong, I still love you. I have always wanted you to be proud of me. And I can see that sometimes you are. I always tell you that I love you. I just hope that some day, you will say the same thing to me.
