Thank you to the friends I have never been more grateful for

A thank you letter to those who have given me the time of day and didn't let me walk what would have been a lonely road.

This path I must walk on my own.

I must ignore the kindness others have shown.

If I get too close, I might reveal too much.

But it's hard when I keep recieveing that gentle touch.

Why can't I be the one to show kindndess to others?

As I walk this road alone, I pass by thousands of sisters, fathers, mothers, and brothers. 

All of whom I can never get to know,

Can never return the kindness they get to show.

If I could have one thing to say to them

I would say thank you for being a friend.

For allowing me to reach out and take the hand you extend.

Thank you for always being there.

And thank you for the friendship we will always share.
