You are the sun shining in my eyes

You are the sun shining in my eyes

A Poem by Faust
"

Make the bad things go away and replace them with something new

"
You are the sun shining in my eyes,
You are the brightness that covers up the lies,
You are the reason I have a life to live,
You have given me everything you can give,
But all good things must come to an end,
When they tell you to break you would rather bend,
People like you and me are always together,
People like you and me can face any kind of weather,
And though I haven't seen you in so long,
I want you to know you have done nothing wrong.

Author's Note

Faust
This poem is dedicated to a boy who had a crush on me in elementary school. He was always bullied and I never got the chance to tell him that I liked him back before he moved away. I was too full of myself to care. Sometimes you don't realize the good things in life until they slip through your fingers.

I like the narrative of this. It's a sweet and touching story/message, and the last line really puts it over the top! The only thing I really need to say about this is that the musicality can be tweaked a bit here and there, for the flow is not entirely seamless, but everything is great! Well done!

love it. written the true things, isn't exaggerated. and with a feeling of bleak squeeze of heart..

Very well written, love the rhyme scheme and flow.

This was beautiful, short, and bitter-sweet.
I was moved by it, and honestly, wished it had gone on a little longer.
Not that you should edit it, that's not what I mean.
I'm just one of those people who hates it when a song this good has to end.

Keep up the great work, my Faustian friend.

Will do:-)
The title is breathtaking. Not a huge fan of the together/weather rhyme. But honestly, the title is enough to make up for that strange rhyme. Beautiful work! I am inspired :)

When the last line says won't, it is supposed to say want. I don't know if you can edit a writing after submitting. I am new to this cite. If you can edit, can someone tell me how. Thanks. Please add reviews
