Health Is MandatoryA Story by Loretta EdwardsHealth Is Mandatory
Maybe Mandatory isn’t the exact word to use. It may be a trifle misleading. Mandatory means: as commanded or required by authority. God does not demand anything of the children that He created and loves. Although our Father wants to give us everything, we are not forced to accept His gifts. We have Free Will. God possess great wealth, which belongs to us as His living heirs. Which is great…except that wealth doesn’t mean much without health to enjoy it.. Health is normal, natural. Everyone should be hale and hardy, especially Christians. Let me ask you a question. Didn’t God create everything good and once created doesn’t it last in some form forever? Right? Then why do people suffer so much on earth and expect health and happiness in heaven? If God created germs, bacteria, and virus they must also be good and last forever or they were never created and don‘t exist. Could it be that we have put a human interpretation on a spiritual creation? Wouldn‘t it be more in character for God to create ‘the germ of an idea’ then a germ with the power to make humans uncomfortable, unhappy and sick enough to die? Yet do you know anyone who does not have a chronic or acute disease? One who isn’t taking medicine daily to treat some illness they have or to ward off one that they fear might attack? Do you know anyone who isn’t complaining of nervous exhaustion, sleepless nights, headaches or a myriad of other problems? . Where does all of this misery originate? Some say, “Once you claim to be a Christian the devil comes after you with temptations, tricks, and disease to make you lose your faith” I have a problem with that idea. Unless, and I know you don’t, consider the devil, Satan or, Lucifer good (whatever you care to name evil) again, God did not create any of it.. Evil could not create itself, therefore the devil and the deeds we attribute to him are a product of our own imagination. Why would we do that? Sickness and suffering is so common that we can’t ignore what we see. We see what we believe as well as we believe what we see. The devil is not the culprit. It is our belief in a power opposed to God. A strong belief that is deeply ingrained and completely established and accepted without question. The second foolish idea to explain our earthly woes is that we have sinned and we deserve to be punished. Our Father is not interested in punishing His children. He is waiting to welcome us home, Prodigal and brother. Jesus could not have healed the lame, blind, diseased and all others if it had been “God’s Will” for them to suffer or if God had actually created the harmful condition. How did Jesus heal? Jesus saw the patient as God created them with no imperfection…Healthy. Then Jesus brought their thought up to Knowing, as He did, that their problems were in their own mistaken belief and not in their body. Realizing the All Power, All Good of our Father-Mother-God, this knowledge instantly dissolved the false claim of disability. Yes health is mandatory! This is one mandate that you will enjoy keeping.
