Is Science Finding God?

What science has accomplished over the last few years is nothing short of miraculous. Had our first ancestors stepped onto Plymouth Rock and been met with the news that this desolate land would become a great country with electric lights, flush toilets, central heat and a/c in every home, and telephones that reach every corner of the world that you can carry in your pocket, (just to name a very few of our conveniences) they would have put that messenger in chains as a lunatic!

Who could believe that anyone could talk to people across the ocean, and see pictures through the air on a box in your living room? How could you describe the internet computer or x ray machines or any of the life saving devices in use in the hospitals? A man walking on the moon? Even I marvel at that! “Impossible. Sick in the head,” they would have to think.

Yet, thanks to science we enjoy many leisure hours that our forefathers didn’t even wish for because they didn’t have time to waste on idle fantasy and foolish dreams. The pitiful part is, the electricity was already there to be used then as it is today. It would have made their life so much easier, if they had only known.

Which reminds me of a joke I was told. Stop me if you have heard this one.

At a scientific conference the scientists were congratulating themselves on how much they knew. They decided they were equal to God and elected one of their own to break the news to God that He was no longer necessary.

“You can take the rest of eternity off ” the courier informed God. “We can take it from here.”

God was skeptical. “Do you really think that you can create life from scratch exactly the way that I did?”

“Sure, no problem,” he assured God as he bent and scooped up a hand full of dirt.

“Oh No, that is not the way I did it,” called God

”Why? What do you mean?” asked the scientist perplexed.

“Get Your Own Dirt!” The End

Science has come a long way but God is still and always will be far in advance of humanity. I will say this for science…Where once religion and science held distinctly different views, the two are narrowing the gap between them. Some scientists are actually God friendly. Others have come to the conclusion, as Christians have long accepted, that nothing as unique, diverse, and complex as the world and humans, could not have been a random accident nor could it have been self-created. The world and humanly needed an Inventive, Intelligent Creator, with a wild and vivid Imagination. Science may name It Energy and Law. Christians call It Father and Love.

Christians and scientists are both learning that thoughts held in mind make a difference in your life and work. Christians are finding that saying “I forgive,” is not the same as giving up resentment and bad feelings left in your mind. Until you make up your mind that you need the peace and contentment that true forgiveness brings, you will continue to suffer from your unforgiving thoughts, no matter how often you repeat “I forgive.”

Scientists have seen that results of experiments are affected by the thoughts of the scientist conducting the experiment. Scientists also have their pet opinion of what the results of this experiment should prove. Another scientist doing the same test, with a different idea, shows a different result.

Thoughts are important! Thoughts control the Christians life. Thoughts influence the results of the scientific experiments. Thoughts, all good thoughts come from God.

Perhaps the next breakthrough in the scientific world will be Spiritual. They will realize that anything that they can invent, God has beat them to it and make it better. Take the telephone for example. It costs a monthly fee, drops calls, gets busy signals, and if you don’t know the phone number you can’t call at all. Worst of all is that once you set the phone down you forget where it is. Mental telepathy is God’s way and it solves all of the problems.

Nothing has been invented, discovered, or thought that has surprised God. The simple reason is God has been there and done that long before any human became aware of the possibility.

Science knows that ‘things’ are not always what they seem. They know because they have been fooled numerous times. They persist until they have a truth that they can prove to their satisfaction. Later, when someone finds a new truth that overrides the former belief, they are open minded enough to embrace the new truth once it has been proven. Isn’t this what we should do with religion?

Science has given us a lot of labor saving devices, of which we are thankful. Think how fantastic life will be when science links arms with God and brings to us the blessings, religion has been telling us for centuries, that God has been keeping for us until we are ready to claim them.
