What Does Christ Mean?

Jesus Christ is the most recognized name on earth. You don’t have to attend church or be a Christian to know that Jesus is the man who came as the saviour of the world. What else do you know?

As a child, I thought that Jesus was ‘special’ so the Bible gave him a given name of Jesus and Christ was his sir name. That Jesus Christ was his full name. Why else would we call him Jesus Christ?

As I grew older, I realized that the Bible wasn’t big on last names. I decided Christ must have a meaning I was not aware of. I asked others. I didn’t care for their answers (some were pretty weird) So I started searching for answers that I could accept. Something that makes sense to me. You will have to judge for yourself.

Christ, I learned is not just a name. It is a title that has to be earned, like Doctor Smith. Jesus should be called Christ Jesus or Jesus the Christ. Open your mind and follow my explanation of this.

God is Spirit! The first creation of God was His only begotten son: Christ. It does not matter that there was no Mrs. Spirit God. God is our Father and our Mother and Christ is His perfect idea. Is this hard for you to understand? Then you immensely limit God!

Our Father-Mother-God does not need the help of humans to create life. God told Job that He could raise up stones as children for Job. That shows that humans do not have much part in making a baby. This is how Mary could conceive the idea of Jesus and still be a virgin. Mary knew the Truth.

Christ is many things. Christ is the spark of life born into every person: the Divine Idea man: your conscience: Truth and Perfection: Reality: the consciousness of the Spiritual Idea: the higher self of man. There are probably more ways to express Christ but these you can understand and I am sure about.

Jesus was born a baby just like everyone on earth. Mary and Joseph gave Jesus a loving, firm, religious upbringing. Mary, having been raised in a Jewish convent, knew every Jewish religious law and taught Jesus to obey. Yet, as He grew He saw through eyes of Truth. He allowed the Christ full authority in His life. He understood the mistakes in the Jewish faith; the superstition; the foolishness that man had added; and the error of belief. This is how at 12 years of age Jesus amazed the priests with His Godly knowledge and wisdom.

It must have broken Mary’s heart when her ’special’ son flaunted some of the most sacred Jewish religious laws and rituals. Jesus didn’t disobey because He was a rebel and wanted to stir up controversy. The Christ Intelligence was showing Jesus how these errors were clouding man’s understanding of the Father.

I am sure that Jesus was not happy about the distress He was causing the mother He respected and dearly loved. But He had to be about His Father’s business.

The Jews didn’t worship idols and they believed in One God. Unfortunately, some had picked up rituals and superstitions from their neighbor’s religions. Some thought of God as a far-off tyrant, just waiting for any small infraction of the religious law, as an excuse, to send sever punishment to them.. Therefore, they feared God more then they loved God. Don’t laugh! It probably wasn’t too long ago that you blamed God for some misfortune in your life?

The Christ consciousness was so strong that Jesus felt He had a mission to introduce man to a new God. A loving Father, ready, willing, and able to give His children whatever their hearts desire.

It was the Christ within and a close and loving relationship with the Father that gave Jesus the knowledge of the Truth that enabled Jesus to do what people call miracles. Where we would see a sick diseased body, the Christ showed Jesus the healthy body that God created, and the body was instantly whole.

Think with the Christ. If God created only good, and He did. Then sickness is good and we have no right to change it, even if we could. If, God did not create sickness then it does not exist and you can’t suffer from something that does not exist. Give the same test to every thing that bothers you.

Jesus earned the title Christ. He demonstrated how simple and happy life is when Christ fills our mind and takes control. Jesus would like nothing more then to award this title to you.

We are related to God as Divine Idea to Divine Mind.
