Promise Of Life

Promise Of Life

A Story by Loretta Edwards

Promise Of Life

People have many ways of insisting that life is hard. From the pulpit you hear, “God never promised that life would be easy. In fact as a Christian you have to fight Satan all the way.” Friends joke that life is a bowl of cherries-full of pits. Laugh today and you’ll cry tomorrow. If anything can go wrong-it will. And life sucks. I beg to disagree. God and Jesus have promised us incredible blessings. Unlike a human promise that is made to be broken, they both keep every vow that they make.

Life sucks? Think about what you are saying. Think deeply about what these words mean. Life is God. Without God there would be no Life of any kind. If you are not satisfied with the direction that your life is taking, you have only yourself to blame.

Blame is not the right word to use here. It isn’t all your fault. We have all been brain-washed by well-meaning people who don’ know any better. They had no idea that the beliefs that they were teaching were harming the ones they love. Change is the word. If you are not satisfied with your life, change your thought. Find the meaning of life. We have a life to live and we have a Life to discover; the Life the Father gave us.

Jesus said, “Fear not little flock. It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Where is this kingdom that God so generously gave us? Where is it not? God, the Father of all, fills all time and all space. Wherever you are; wherever you go; God in all His glory is with you all the way. Death does not get you an entrance through the pearly gates. God is a God of the living. Will you be unhappy walking with God?

Jesus’ message was, “Your thoughts are wrong. Your heaven is not far away; and it is not a place of metes and bounds, is not a country to be reached; it is a state of mind. God never made a heaven for man, He never made a hell; we are creators and we make our own.” I this a contradiction? No! God walks with us but He will not force us to acknowledge Him. ”If you make your bed in hell, I am there” We have free will to suffer as much as we like.

I don’t think that Jesus was a fire and brimstone; hell and damnation preacher. I think He was a happy, fun loving guy. He taught compassion, understanding, love and He practiced what He preached. ”Today is the day the Lord has made; rejoice and be exceeding glad.” When was the last time that you enjoyed your day? Working or playing?

Jesus was human, born of woman, like us. He also represented the Christ; the son of God. We have the Christ within us as our conscience to tell us right from wrong. God is Spirit. We must worship Him in spirit and truth. As long as we consider ourselves human we will have troubles. When we realize that we are the spiritual image of the Spirit that created us; life will be a joyous adventure. We will live Life like Jesus promised and God intended. All good will be ours to share. Life lived with God is heaven on earth.

The time has come when the Truth can and must be revealed. It takes courage, work, determination and dedication to go against the religious beliefs that have held humanity in a prison of sin, sickness and death. It breaks the dream of disease to understand that sickness is formed by the human mind not by matter nor by the divine mind. For you to be sick; God must be sick because you are the image of God. If it isn’t good it doesn’t come from God and in reality it doesn’t exist.
