God Can't Thank GodA Story by Loretta EdwardsGod Can’t Thank God You probably grew up hearing, “With God all things are possible.” I whole heartedly believe that. The questioned is asked, “Can God make a rock so heavy that He can’t lift it?” I say, “No, for the same reason as the statement above. God is All Power and All Powerful. So how can I say, “God can’t?” IF, God can do Everything---What is left that He can’t do? He can’t forgive. He can’t protect. He can’t heal. Now if I haven’t lost you because you think I’m blaspheming all that is sacred, let me assure you I am getting my information from the same Bible that you read. The things that He can’t do are things we should praise Him for. Let me explain. Genesis 1:1-31 and 2:1-5 informs us that God’s creation was spiritual and good. Nothing that God created could cause harm, discomfort, or annoyance to any other creature. “In all the vastness of infinity there is, in Divine Reality, nothing but good because God is Infinite Good.” A quote from Christian Science. Keep that in mind as you read. When God hung the sun, moon, stars and planets in the sky; the law governing their path was in place. Science put man on the moon using that same law. Everything that God created was subjected to law. His laws are beneficent, just and fair. Only Spiritual things are real. What God did not create does not exist. Why God Can’t Forgive To forgive means someone has done something to you that you feel has been wrong. They say, “I’m sorry.” You say, “OK we will forget about it.” As long as we believe in a power opposed to God there will be sin. As long as we believe our Creator thinks and reacts as humanity does; with anger, hate, wrath, punishment, retaliation, revenge, etc.--there will be trouble, accidents and problems in our life. Our sin is not knowing or understanding our Father-Mother-God as the unconditional loving Creator of everything good. When we break God’s laws, or as we think sinned, God does not punish us, nor does He have anything to forgive. The punishment is knowing that we have done wrong. In God’s reality there is No Satan, No Evil, No sin to be forgiven. God holds us in His Mind as His prefect Idea. Why God Can’t Protect As the Creator formed each creature; He named it, provided it with comfortable surroundings and food. No animal needed protection from another because there was no killer instinct. I used to wonder how the shepherd could leave the 99 sheep, while looking for the one who left the fold. Then I under- stood that they were safe in God’s Love. The lost sheep (man) had wandered away, broke the law, believes the error thoughts, and he finds himself alone and afraid. The Good Shepherd finds the lost and then he is not forced back, but is gently lead back. The shepherd never hurts his sheep. When God cares that much for his creatures, how much more does He care for His children? God can’t protect you from a danger that doesn’t exist. Why God Can’t Heal God had companions. There were angels, cherubim, seraphim, and Christ. He wanted children that would love Him of their own free will. God created male and female in His own image and likeness: Spirit. He gave them free-will, which means we have the authority to live as we please. God didn’t want slaves, puppets, robots or servants. He wants a genuine and complete love from us. Before He created people; He set in motion laws of peace, joy. harmony and love. All in harmonies and seeming misery are the result of the error thinking and false beliefs of men. Men have made god one of us, limited and impotent. God did not make Adam out of dirt and bring him the animals to name and choose as a mate. Our Father had already created and named his creations; man is spirit not dirt. It is this misunderstanding that causes our misery. If God had ordained your sickness, pain or death, do you believe medicine, doctors or surgery could change God’s decree? We consider ourselves intelligent with no need for God. That is until we fall sick, then we pray for health. Man has conjured his own sin, misery and disappointment. God can’t heal us. Health is eternal. 742 words Loretta Ellen Edwards © 2017 Loretta Edwards |
