Have You Considered This?A Story by Loretta EdwardsHave You Considered This? I have an opinion that I would like to share. I don’t expect you to agree, but you may find it interesting and informative. I have the upmost respect for Jesus and what He taught humanity. I have also wondered how He can be our brother and also become our savior. Forget that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a virgin. Jesus was born a baby just like you and everyone you know. Joseph accepted the baby as his own and raised Jesus in a loving Jewish home. Jesus is our brother just as much as the brother that you grew up with, that pestered you, teased you, and you fought with. It doesn’t matter how they are conceived; all babies are created by God. Jesus was no different than us. So how did Jesus become our savior? Christ is the son of God: Holy. Jesus is the son of Mary: human; and earned the title of Christ Jesus. Christ is the perfect spiritual man of God’s creation- which every person is in reality. Our humanity is an illusion, but as long as we believe that we are lost human sinners, we will suffer the consequences of this belief. God holds each individual in His Mind as a perfect idea. [We can argue if Christ is a separate entity or another attribute of God] We are all our Father’s children. The only difference is Jesus became aware of who He was. The human man was Jesus, the son of Mary; that is an undeniable fact. Mary taught Him the Jewish religion, but Jesus wanted to know more. As His spiritual knowledge grew, He knew that He had a mission to teach and heal. Because Jesus suffered agony on the cross for our sins, not His own. We believe we are doomed to suffer torment from Satan too. If this good man suffered why should we be exempt? Now here is where I will probably lose you. I don’t think Jesus suffered physical pain like we would. Think about it! Jesus has spent a life time learning about our heavenly Father. He had already understood more than the High Priests in the temple when He was only twelve years old. He had just successfully finished three years of healing everyone who came to Him, of whatever was wrong in their life. If they were blind they saw; if deaf they heard; sick they left healthy; even death fled from the body of the dead. Jesus healed spiritually knowing there was nothing needing healing except the error (belief in a lie or a false sense of things) in their belief. A belief in the lie, held in the race consciousness, that there is a power for evil (Satan) opposed to Almighty God. Jesus called sick thoughts from their minds by knowing, in Reality, they exist only as idle or idol thoughts of sickness. With .the error thought removed the body is instantly and permanently healed. When you think of Jesus on the cross, you think of a dejected, defeated, and severely suffering human. The way you would feel under the same circumstance. I think of Jesus as knowing He was a happy winner. As He waited for the soldiers Jesus was still human enough to experience some fear and doubt. He spent the night in prayer. Because of His prayer, He was renewed and refreshed. He knew the Father so intensely, so intimately that He was becoming the Christ man and His body so spiritual that no error thought of pain could penetrate His knowledge. This opinion does not distract from the amazing way He chose to prove to us that death is nothing more than man’s fear of a power other than God (again Satan). Death is an illusion. The human Jesus died and arose as the forever Christ man. This is how He became our savior, and still remain our brother. “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” I think Jesus suffered more because the people He loved and wanted to help didn’t understand His message. Do you? Prove it in health and happiness. 686 words Loretta Ellen Edwards
