Scientific Healing

 

            When sickness strikes, being well again is the main concern and how that is accomplished is of little importance. When you are miserable enough, even a witch doctor would be a welcome sight if there were any possibility he could help.

            I imagine everyone reading this page has had some experience with medical healing, in the form of surgery, a short stay in the hospital for tests, or at least a shot for something in the doctor's office. Medical science is the accepted healing method of our modern age. Although each day Acupuncture, Bio-feedback, Holistic medicine, and Yoga are receiving more attention.

            What about Spiritual healing? It seems to have disappeared with the death (so called) of its founder. I doubt that many of you have had any experience with spiritual healing in any form. The church has all but abandoned the practice. The physician will tell you that spiritual healing is too risky because it depends too much on the faith of the one needing help and that faith can fluctuate under stressful circumstances, and as we all know, sickness is certainly stressful.

            There are some who will not believe that religion and science can co-exist. Religion is based of feelings and science is cold hard facts. Others might suggest that the miracles of Biblical fame might better be taken figuratively rather then literarily.

            There are some that will argue that spiritual healing was fine in its day, when nothing better was available, but that day is long gone and it is not possible to use spiritual healing in today's world. Why?

            If it worked then, for Jesus, it will work just as well for us today. Why not? The miracles that Jesus preformed were scientifically spiritual. They were not miracles. A miracle suggests that something out of the ordinary has taken place; a phenomenon; an unusual event. It implies that God has intervened on the behalf of one of His beloved children, while another person will have to suffer the consequences of a condition beyond His control. The possibly of one individual being helped over another, simply because one prayed longer or harder, is to make a mockery of God.

Does God love one more then another? What condition could stand against God’s command to remove itself? Jesus used a scientific law and the law never changes. His cures were assured.

            Science is a knowledge in which what is known is presented in an orderly fashion. Chemistry is a science. So is music, farming, boxing, and any number of techniques and skills used in our modern world. Then why do we insist that spiritual healing is lost to us?

            Science is concerned with collecting facts, finding the laws which explain those facts, and applying those laws so that the facts may be of use to men. Doesn't that describe Jesus and the life He led? He devoted His entire life to teaching us scientific facts about healing.

            The fact is that Jesus used a healing method that never failed. To be so accurate, precise, and exact it had to be a science. A healing science. Just as available for healing today as then. The law of gravity has not changed in 2000 years. Drop something and it will still fall to the ground. The law of centrifugal force has not changed nor has the law for the orbit of the planets, moon, stars, sun, and earth. No one objects when we call mathematics the science which studies and explains quantities and the relations between them. We don't question when scientists tell us they have found a law, any rule, principle, etc, which always works in the same way under the same conditions; as the law of gravity; we call it scientific and say that is the way it should be. Then why do we question that a Good God made a Good Scientific Law to keep His children healthy?

            Scientific healing-spiritual healing-all of the many healing miracles Jesus accomplished-are one and the same: Spiritually Scientific. The facts Jesus collected are scientifically correct today and waiting to be used.

            1)  God made everything

            2)  Everything that God made was perfect and still is

            3)  Man was the last creation. Spiritual and perfect

            4) God loves His children

Because of this love there is nothing and no thing in the universe that can harm His children and this is a scientific fact.

            Because God is Spirit and man is made in His image; man is healthy and happy. This is a spiritual fact.

            Jesus was a mighty scientific thinker. With all the facts at hand He used them for man's benefit and asked that we make use of them also. He said all the things that he did we should also do. The law is always in operation.

            Spiritually scientific healing is knowing, as Jesus did, that man had no need other then to know God.
